How This Deck Was Made: An old tarot deck was used as the substrate for collage, paint, gesso, and inks. Images were sourced from vintage materials and tea-stained papers. Letters were hand stamped with vintage type from American Type Founders in Goudy Oldstyle 24 point.

About the Artist: Alexandra Jamieson is an NYC-based multimedia artist whose work has earned global acclaim. A third-generation self-taught artist, her recent Abortion Trading Cards series imagines a dystopian future where abortion is illegal, and people trade information about reproductive care using hand-altered playing cards.

Alex's work has been featured in galleries and exhibitions across the US. She is a best-selling author of five books, including "Radical Alignment," and was the co-creator and co-star of the Oscar-nominated documentary "Super Size Me."

Her curating project, We Create | NYC, is a fiscally sponsored project of the New York Foundation for the Arts, producing group exhibitions featuring living women, non-binary, and LGBTQIA+ artists.
